Latest reports
from England revealed that Alan Smith expressed his
desire to stay at Newcastle and rejected the transfer
to Boro in exchange deal with Mido. This means that
Hossam won't join the Toon
Army.
Both Mido and Smith were unhappy with the swap deal
After a meeting between Newcastle striker Alan Smith
and their manager Joe Kinnear, Smith announced that
he is willing to stay at the club and the manager stated
that he is happy for Smith to remain a Newcastle player.
This means that the swap deal of Mido and Smith has
reached a dead end and the transfer has fallen through.
It was said that the former Chealsea player and current
Executive Director at Newcastle United Dennis Wise wanted
Smiths excessive wages off the books and threatened
that he would never play for the club again. However,
the man at helm Joe Kinnear decided to keep his striker
after their meeting on Thursday afternoon.
While the move to Newcattle isnot an option now, it
is expected that Mido will leave the teeside this January
as a number of clubs are currently considering him.
He might not also be keen on staying at Boro anymiore
as the club was willing to let him go in exchange of
Smith, a thing that Mido didn't appreciate.
