Newcastle fans continued their racist abuse of Mido
Mido came on as a substitute against Newcastle
United to to subjected to another episode of racial
abuse by the guests' fans.
Chants about terrorism were sung by a
section of Newcastles travelling support when
the Egypt striker came on as a sub in the second half
of the 0-0 draw on Saturday.
A FA spokesman confirmed: We want
to make it clear that you cant get away with chants
like this.
Both clubs were asked to take steps to avoid a repeat
and Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: We have to
rise above it. If people want to shout those things
then it is a reflection on them.
It should be noted that this is the 2nd time that Newcastle
fans target Mido with their racist taunts as the Egyptian
was verbally attacked by the same travelling fans last
season but he managed to silence them after scoring
for his side.
