Mido has been injured and missed the last
two Premiership matches. He finally made his return
to action this afternoon as he came on as a sub to score
the equalizer for his side against West Ham.
Boro started with Tuncay and Alves at
front while Mido came on from bench in the 2nd half.
The Egyptian together with two other substitutes, Arca
and Hoyte made a huge impact that helped Boro come back
into the game.
Boro went down by a goal which came through
Mullins in the 21st minute. He struck a rising volley
shot which hit the underside of the bar and went in
to give West Ham the lead in a bizzare fashion.
Boro failed to comeback into the game
in the first half. However the introduction of Mido,
Hoyte, and Arca in the 2nd half helped the team to control
things and get back into the game.
The equalizer came in the 83rd minute
when Mido won a freekick right on the edge of the box.
The Egyptian struck the freekick low to penetrate the
poorly formed wall and to defeat the keeper to make
the score 1-1.
Right after his goal, Mido received a through pass and
advanced into the box, he tried a shot from narrow angle
but the goalkeeper parried it this time for a corner.
Mido won alot of headers, held the ball
well under pressure and kept chasing the defenders for
the ball, his performance was very good in the few minutes
that he played and it won't be a surprise if he starts
the next match.
The draw put draw in a respectable 8th
spot in the table while Wigan moved up to the 16th spot
after being 18th after the loss to Fulham on Wednesday.
