Boro's defensive midfielder Mohamed Shawky
recovered sooner than it was expected and will possibly
participate in the Carling Cup away match versus Manchester
United next week.
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Shawky resumed
training a couple of days ago following his groin strain
injury that he suffered during the preparations of Egyptian
national team for the Congo DR match.
Shawky is expected to return in the Carling
Cup match versus Manchester United. This will be rather
good news for Southgate as Arca is still not fit to
play while Digard is doubtful because of knee injury.
While Shawky is expected to return to
action next week, Tuncay Sanli will be out for six weeks
after suffering a knee injury on international duty
versus Belgium.
This will give Mido a chance to start
alongside Alves for a month and a half which is a big
chance for Mido to prove himself as starter once again.
It should be noted that Boro will play away from home
versus Sunderland on Saturday at non. The club should
improve their away form as they lost both away matches
that they played in the Premiership this season despite
taking the lead first in both matches.
Come to EP on Saturday noon for updates
on the score, match report and possible multimedia from
the Sunderland match.
