Boro's chief executive Keith Lamb spoke
about the possible transfers and rumours surrounding
the club players. He stressed that Mido is an essential
part of the Boro squad and the club is not prepared
to let him go anytime soon.
"I'm delighted other clubs are taking
an interest in our players, and so is Gareth,"
said Lamb
"It shows we're doing something right.
It's up to us to show our players they can satisfy their
ambitions with us and I don't think any of our players
would rather be with any other club just now."
Lamb poured cold water on the news linking
Mido with Hamburg, Wigan and Fulham:
"I don't think there was any real
interest. We received what Gareth described as speculative
calls. We had no intention of moving him. We're building
a squad and Mido is an essential part of that squad.
"We've been through a season of injuries and now
he's fit and raring to go and he's promised me and Gareth
he appreciates what we've done for him and I'm looking
forward to seeing that."
