Mirror newspaper reveals Mido fury

Mirror Newspaper claim that Mido refused to attend club sponsors after the match versus Stoke City in ewhich Mido came on with a few minutes left. The report revealed that this could lead to a disciplinary action against the Egyptian star.

Remember this? When Mido was a player for Ajax and didn't attend sponsors meeting, Koeman decided to demote him to the reserves teama nd loaned him to Celta Vigo in the winter transfer window.

However, and even if the Mirror story was true, Gareth Southgate won't treat Mido as Koeman did but instead, he refused to let the Egyptian hitman go to join Steve Bruce's Wigan. He promised the Egyptian more first team football and he appeared to be holding Mido in the highest regard.

He said: "Mido's performances have been excellent, so it wouldn't be logical for us to lose a player of that ability.

"He's disappointed not to have started but that's something I have to deal with. That's what I'm paid to do .

"I had a very good chat with him on Friday. He's a very emotional lad and he wants to play. He obviously feels that having scored three goals in three games, more than in all of last season, he deserves the right to start. I can't argue with that too much.

"My own feeling is that he got a couple of those goals because of the impact he made coming off the bench. He'll get his opportunity very soon."

Regarding Wigan's offer, Southgate said: "There was a call from Steve Bruce but it was all a bit tentative and dependent on other things happening.

In my opinion it was just a case of them covering their bases in case something else happened at their end."

So in the end, Mido will be part of Southgate's plans in the coming weeks, he will try to play the Egyptian as starter annd will have to keep the Egyptian happy. Otherwise, Mido knows ehere he can go in the winter transfer window...
