In a phone call with TV channel, ModernSport,
Mido revealed that Boro will unlikely let him go as
Southgate sees him as a key member of the squad. Hossam
also revealed that Boro rejected a £7m bid from
Wigan for the strike
According to Mido himself, who conducted
a phone call interview with TV channel ModernSport,
Southgate will unlikely let the Egyptian go in the current
transfer window and so, Mido will most likely remain
as a Boro player.
The Egyptian held a meeting yesterday
with his boss, Gareth Southgate and the club chairman
which lasted an hour. Mido revealed that Boro officials
want to keep him and the chances to let him go won't
exceed 1%.
The 25 year old hitman also added that
Southgate promised him more first team football and
told him he will start games as soon as he is 100% fit.
When asked about Martin Jol's desire to
bring Mido to Hamburg, Hossam said: "I didn't reject
the offer because of Jol or Hamburg but I like to stay
in the Premiership and I don't like to leave England
in the near future".
According to Mido, Steve Bruce phoned him and asked
him if he can join Wigan as replacement for Emile Heskey
who is expected to make a move to Aston Villa. The Egyptian
didn't rule out the possibility of the transfer to happen
but he said: "So far, Boro officials want to keep
me. However, the transfer market is still open till
the 31st and things could happen".
When asked about his chances to start
versus Stoke City, Mido revealed that he will start
from bench as he played full 90 minutes in the Carling
Cup. He added that he will play in the 2nd half and
he hopes to score again as he come on.
