As EP reported earlier, Mido and Shawky started
against Yeovil in the carling Cup. Mido scored just
nine minutes after the kick off from a strike into the
top corner from inside the box. The Boro hitman looked
in a great shape and played a very good game overall.
Boro managed to add four more goals while the guests
scored once to end the game in a 5-1 win. Shawky also
started and was taken off in the 60th minute to be rested
for the weekend match.
On fire Egyptian striker Mido continued
to impress with Boro. he led his side to a 5-1 win over
Yeovil in the league cup. He scored the first goal and
was involved in the making of another. Hossam was one
of the best performers on the pitch overall and his
compatriot Shawky had a decent game too.
It was the first time for Mido to start
for Boro this season. The Egyptian took his chances
well and scored in the 11th mkinute from a well placed
shot from inside the box.
Boro added another goal through Digard
who struck home from long range in the 23rd minute.
In the 32nd minute, Aliadiere made the score 3-0 but
a late goal by Yeovil ended the first half in a 3-1
score.
In the 2nd half, Boro added two more goals
through Dutch new signing Emnes and Johnson to end the
game in a 5-1 win and qualify for the 3rd round of the
carling Cup.
