Super sub Mido came to to stun the Reds at
their home ground with a great low shot with his left
from outside the box. Now, Mido is two goals in two
games and off to a great start this season with his
side. Shawky, on the other hand, played an instrumental
role in midfield and spoiled many attacks for the Reds.
Despite the great performance from Boro, the Reds were
able to score the equalizer from a deflected shot and
a goal right at the death through Gerrard to win the
game by two goals to one.

Anfield Stunned!
This is what the English commentator on
ShowSports screamed with after watching Mido's stunning
strike from long range in Liverpool's net. The Egyptian
did it again, came on as a sub to turn the tables and
score a crucial and magnificent goal for Boro.
After struggling in the entire past season
due to injuries and lack of fitness due to weight gain,
the Egyptian worked hard in summer to lose more than
12 kg and now he is back to haunt the goalkeepers' dreams.
Unfair Defeat:
After watching today's game, no one can
argue that football is often unfair and results can
be quite different from what is actually going on on
the field. Boro did everything right till they took
the lead but a very unfortunate deflection of Carrager's
shot awarded Liverpool the equalizer. Drama reached
its peak in the stoppage time as Gerrar scored from
a great shot to award his side three points which was
a very cruel thing for Boro who ate least deserved a
draw.

The defeat at Anfield was pretty harsh
for Boro fans, but it can distinguish between teams
who play to win competitions and clubs who seek a midtable
position. Liverpool is one of the teams who won Champions
League, a side which is full of talent and experienced
players who can change the result of any game within
a fraction of second. Gerrard's goal is a great example
for this as he took his chance with great confidence
and accuracy leaving Turnbell with no chance.

Brave Performance:
Boro and Shawky showed a solid performance
against Liverpool. They looked solid at the back with
Pogatetz and Huth in the middle. Shawky played his role
with great efficiency and gave depth to Boro's midfield.
He was doing his defensive duties in a superb way and
linked well with his teammates in attack when his side
had possession.
In attack, Tuncay was speedy as usual,
his quick touches and pace gave headache to Liverpool
defense but he wasn't very sharp on goal. Aliadiere
gave the side plenty of options by playing as a right
winger while Downing played well as a left winger and
almost scored in the first half from a berilliant solo
run.
Alves was good but not great and Mido
was much more efficient when he came on to replace him,
the Egyptian did everything to be expected from a great
striker. He won almost everything in the air, held the
ball well under pressure, beat defenders with pace a
trickery and best of all, he scored a great goal that
could win the game for Boro if they managed to defend
their lead.
More on Mido and Shawky's performance
will follow soon...
