Boro completed the signing of forward
Marvin Emnes from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam and
midfielder Didier Digard from Paris Saint Germain. Both
players will increase the level of competition for places
in midfield and at front which could decrease Mido and
Shawky's chances of starting next season.
Middlesbrough have sealed the signing
of Didier Digard from Paris Saint Germain. The U-21
France international has been linked with a move to
Boro for a long time but problem related to transfer
fee delayed the transfer.
Digard is a midfielder and he plays the
same role hat Egyptian midfielder Shawky plays, he joined
for 4 million pounds while Shawky joined Boro last year
for a fee of mere 700.000 pounds. So, it will be expected
that Digard be favored over Shawky who couldn't get
into the starting eleven often last season due to injuries
and his need for adaptation to the English game.
On the other hand, Middlesbrough have
completed the signing of forward Marvin Emnes from Eredivisie
side Sparta Rotterdam. The 20-year-old joined for a
fee of €4million, he scored 8 goals for Sparta
last season and was a target for a number of clubs.
While Emnes arrival is expected to increase the competition
for the 2 striker's positions in the starting line-up,
the Dutch man will unlikely compete with Mido as it
will take him some time to adapt to the Premiership
while Egyptian striker Mido already have vast Premiership
experience.
In addition to this, Mido is expected
to get back to starting line-up next season after he
lost over 10 kilograms this summer and he is expected
to partner with Afonso Alves at front.
