Boro's manager Gareth Southage backed
Mido up and regretted his decision of forcing the Egyptian
to play while not fully fit. Southgate confidently announced
that next season Mido can drive Boro forward.
The current season is surely the worst
for Mido since he started his footballing career. The
Egyptian has been doomed with injuries and will remain
out of action in the coming weeks as well because of
a hernia operation.
Gareth Southgate feels bad that his decisions
to rush Mido in after coming back from injuries resulted
in Mido's condition to get worse.
"We've really been playing catch
up with him the whole time," said Southgate to
the official Boro site.
"When he came he hadn't had a full pre-season
and we threw him in earlier than we would have liked.
"After Christmas when he was well short of full
fitness we had to ask him to go in again
"But needs must and we needed him to play in certain
games to get us through them.
"Now we've got to say it's unlikely he'll play
again this season although we wouldn't rule that out.
"But we have to get him in the right physical
condition so that when he comes back he has the effect
we know he's capable of."
EP hopes that Mido will come back strong and in his
top form next season.
