EP have learnt that Mido might undergo a hernia operation
in the next 48 hours. In this case, he will be expected
to miss the remaining matches of Boro this season
Middlesbrough will most likely continue
their season without Mido. The Egyptian was diagnosed
to be suffering from hernia and the next 48 hours will
decide if he will undeergo a hernia operation or not.
In this case, the Egyptian striker will
be out for around 6 weeks and so, he will not play for
Boro till next season. It should be noted that Boro
still have seven matches to play before the end of the
current season.
It's a possibility that Mido might
need an operation, Boro boss Gareth Southgate
told the Gazette.
At the moment he is having some
tests on a possible hernia and so we are just assessing
the situation. He added.
He would be the first to say he
has had a horrendous time really, said Southgate.
Hopefully it wont be the case that he needs
an operation but if it is, it gives him an opportunity
to sort all of his clinical problems out and get himself
completely fit because really weve kept throwing
him in at times when weve known he is not fully
ready.
We havent seen the best of him and weve
perhaps got to say: Right, lets work towards
getting him completely right and then hopefully we have
a new player for next season'.
We will find out in the next couple of days.
Southgate concluded.
It should be noted that Mido has been doomed with injuries
this season and the season before. The Egyptian always
come back unfit after injuries and gains alot of weight
which affects his form.
