Mido scored
for Boro and led his side to advance into the quarter
finals of the FA cup. Boro couldn't penetrate the Sheffield
defenses in the original time and the first period of
extra time. But Mido managed to score from a deflected
shot to win the game for his side. The Egyptian played
the full match and while most of the chances were for
Tuncay, he scored from the only chance he got.

Although the match was played on Boro's
homeground, the game wasn't easy for Boro and victory
came from a lucky strike by Mido which went in thanks
to the contribution from the goalkeeper.
The match was tight and boring as the
guests fought for every ball and closed the gaps in
defense. Sheffield United tight defending made the job
harder for Boro and the game had to reach extra time
to decide the team which will make it to quarter finals.
Mido played the game from start to finish
and while he worked hard, he didn't get service from
midfield and so, he didn't have the chance to test the
keeper untill the 114th minute when he scored the match
winner.
Hossam started the match alongside the
new signing Alves while Sanli Tuncay was on bench. The
other Egyptian at Riverside, Shawky is on the way of
recovering fully from groin strain and should be able
to feature in next week's game vesus Reading.
After a goal-less ninety minutes and a
first priod in extra time as well, a long ball was played
in the direction of Mido who headed it down to Tuncay,
the ball came off a defender and bounced back to Mido
who hit it powerfully with his right to dtrike the body
of another defender, hit the crossbar and bounce back
to the goalkeeper who tried to hold onto it but he sent
it into his own net.
