Mido came on in the 2nd half of the Reds 3-2 home win
over Boro. The match was decided by Fernando Torres
who scored a hat-trick. Defending from the Boro side
was poor and led to two goals after mistakes from Arca
and the keeper Schwarzer.

Sanli Tuncay recovered from his injury
and so, Southgate preferred to start with him alongside
Aliadiere instead of Mido who is gradually trying to
regain his top form.
Boro managed to score an early goal through
the Turk international Tuncay who headed home in the
8th minute of the game.
In the 27th minute, the star of the game
Fernando Torres took advantage of an awful back pass
from Julio Arca and managed to round the keeper before
sending the ball into the back of the net.
To minutes later, Torres scored again
from a quality strike from the edge of the box to double
Liverpool's lead.
Minutes after the 2nd half, Mido started
warming up to replace O'Neal in order to increase the
attacking options.
In the 61st minute, Kuyt sent a long pass
to Torres, Boro's keeper Schwarzer came out of his goal
in an attempt to collect the ball but Torres won it
from the Boro defender and sent it past Schwarzer to
seal his hat-trick and make the score 3-1.
Mido and his teammates kept going forward
and managed to claw a goal back through Downing who
received a clever through pass and sent the ball home
to make e the score 3-2.
