Mido
is struggling to get back to full fitness. He was expected
to be fully fit last month but it seems that the Egyptian
will need an extra month to be able to play full games.
Mido is regaining his fitness in a slow
way, but eventually, he will be fit within a month as
Southgate hopes and expects.
The Egyptian is currently put through
a rigorous training schedule and according to Assistant
boss Malcolm Crosby, Mido made progress within the past
two weeks.
If he continues to work at this
rate then it might be another few weeks.
He is going to be in decent shape at the end
of it and hopefully he will be pushing for his place
in no more than a month or so.
We need all our players fit. We need competition
for places. He concluded.
It should be noted that Mido's injury forced Boro to
sign Brazilian striker Alonso Alves from Heerenveen
in the transfer window and he made his debut as Boro
won their home match against Fulham by a single goal.
