While Mohamed Shawky looks to be staying at Boro in the long-term, captain George Boateng may leave in January or June, it is reported. Read also:
The Boro skipper, who plays in the same position as Shawky, has received interest from several Premiership clubs, including Sunderland. Manager Gareth Southgate does not want to sell the player, but Middlesbrough may see this as a last chance to cash in on the veteran. Should he leave, Shawky's place may be fermented in the starting eleven, or at least in the match squads.
