Egyptian striker Mido will likely feature
in Boro's next match on the 12th of January. The Boro
side will face Liverpool at home and by that time, Mido
should be ready to make return from his long term injury.
Mido is making progress in training and
should be ready to play again on the 12th this month
as Boro face Liverpool in the Premierhship.
Boro's next game will be on Saturday in
the FA cup against Bristol city but the Egyptian striker
will not be included in tehe match squad for that game.
Manager Gareth Southgate is hopeful that
he will play some part against the Reds though.
"We're hoping he will have an involvement
of some sort against Liverpool," he said.
"We've got to take it step by step. I don't think
he will be ready to start but if we can have him in
the squad it will certainly strengthen the bench, which
will be a nice situation to have." Southgate added.
On the hand, Shawky is heading to Egypt tomorrow in
order to start preparations for Ghana 2008 with the
national team and will not feature in the FA cup on
Saturday as well.
It should be noted that the Egyptian suffered a minor
knee injury that kept him out of the home match versus
Everton which ended in a 0-2 home defeat for Boro.
