Both Boro and Spurs failed to win and
the clash ended in a 1-1 draw. Darren Bent scored froma
powerful low shot from the edge of the box in the first
half and Luke Youngequalized fro Boro from a thunderous
strike in the 2nd half. The Egyptian trio at Boro and
Suprs didn't see action for different reasons.
In absence of Mido, Ghaly and Shawky, Boro and Tottenham
couldn' improve their poor league standings as their
encounter ended in a 1-1 draw.
The match was even and each team got a few chances
to score. Spurs scored first from a powerful low drive
by Darren Bent while Boro's goal came from a bullet
drive by Luke young in the 2nd half.
Spurs attack composed of Darren Bent and Jermain Defoe
while Berbatov and Keane started on bench and came on
in the 2nd half. On the other hand, Jeremie Aliadiere
and Sanli Tuncay were the attacking duo for Boro and
both came off in the 2nd half as well and were replaced
by Dong Gook and Hutcheson.
Spurs were the better side at the start of the game
and continued to control the game most of the first
half. On the other side, Boro improved alot with the
start of the 2nd half till they scored the equalizer
and then the game became even from both sides.
It should be noted that Mido missed the match because
of his groin injury while Shawky wasn't chosen for the
last 16. On the other hand, Spurs midfielder Ghaly is
still out of picture and according to many reports,
he is just waiting January to join another team.
