Egyptian striker Mido will not be able
to play versus his old club Tottenham on Saturday as
he is still suffering from a recurrence of his groin
injury. The Egyptian is expected to be out for a couple
of weeks before he can make return to games.
Boro are going to face Tottenham on Saturday in the
Premiership. The two troubled sides are underachieving
tthis season and both will face relegation danger if
their results didn't improve in the coming weeks.
A match like this would feature three Egyptians on
the field but Mido is not available due to groin inury
while Shawky is unlikely to make debut in thar match.
On the other side, Hossam Ghaly doesn't train with Tottenham
and is on the way out of the club in January.
On Mido's injury, Gareth Southgate said this afternoon:
"I don't think he'll make this week and we've just
got to see how he progresses beyond that.
"It's important we get him fit and firing and
ready to come back into the side and make a big impact.
"We've got to get him fully fit now rather than
playing a game, missing a game and keeping aggravating
the injury, so we've decided to take him out for a spell,
get him fully fit and up to speed."
