The game ended in a 4-1 win for Man United. The home side scored first through a wonder strike by Nani while Boro equalized through Aliadiare who replaced the injured Mido in the starting eleven and headed home after a fine cross from Tuncay to make the score 1-1. Later on, Wayne Rooney scored the 2nd goal from close range after a pass from Nani. In the 2nd half, Man United continued to dominate and added two more goals through Carlos Tevez. It should be noted that Mido was dropped from selection after a recurrence of his groin problem and the Egyptian is expected to miss games for a period of four weeks.

Egyptian striker Mido was expected to start alongside Aliadiere who returned back after injury. However, the Egyptian started to feel pain again during training and had to leave the pitch.

Medical examinations revealed a recurrence of groin problem which kept him out of action most of the last season.

It is obvious that the Egyptian have a chronic injury problem and its recurrence will haunt the Boro striker from time to time.

The best solution for Mido's groin problems is the surgical solution but it would keep the Egyptian out of action for 4-6 months and could mean an early end for his season.

With the surgical option being excluded, the Egyptian hitman will have to be treated with injections and rest for a few weeks.

In this afternoon match, Boro went to Manchester as the underdogs and the result wasn't a surprising one as they suffered a heavy defeat by four goals to one.

After only three minutes from the kick off, Portuguese young midfielder Nani scored from a great shot to give the home side the lead. However, Boro replied from a welll headed goal which came through Jeremie Aliadiere who headed the ball in off the post after a cross from Sanli Tuncay.

Gradually with time, Manchester United became in total control of the game thanks to their talented players, Nani, Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez.

In the 33rd minute, Nani laid the ball well to Rooney inside the box and the latter smashed the ball into the far corner to reclaim the lead once again.

In the 2nd half, the omeside showed their total domination on midfield and their counter attacks resulted in two more goals which came through Carlos Tevez.

Tevez' first goal came in the 55th minute after a superb work between Nani, Rooney who laid the ball to Tevez with his backheel and the latter buried the ball home with one touch to make the score 3-1.

Five minutes before the final whistle, Tevez added another goal after a solo effort as he received the ball inside the box and cut into the middle from left before powering a low shot at goal, the ball came off a defender then off Boro's keeper Schwarzer who couldn't prevent it from going in and the score became 4-1 in the end.

With this loss, Boro are now close to relegation with only 8 points collected so far and hopefully, the situation will be changed soon before its too late.
