Boro achieved an easy 2-0 home win over Northampton
Town in the English League Cup. Egyptian ace Mido was
rested and came on as sub in the 69th minute. Goals
came through Rochemback and Lee who scored in the 55th
and 66th minutes respectively. The Egyptian hitman had
three chances to score in the few minutes he played,
he hit the bar from an overhead kick and also had a
shot that was well saved. Mido also hit the ball just

Middlesboro managed to qualify for the
arling Cup 3rd round after a 2-0 home with over Northampton
Town.
Boro's boss Gareth Southgate rested Mido
and didn't start with him at front. However, the Egyptian
came on in the 69th minute and had a positive impact.
After a goal-less first half, Rochemback
gave the homeside the lead in the 55th minute while
Lee added the 2nd in the 66th minute.
After securing the win, Mido came on and
had a chance to add a 3rd goal but the bar denied him
after an overhead kick.
The Egyptian also had a shot on goal that was saved
by the goalkeeper and another effort that went just
wide.
