Bruce
Reveals: Minimum Fee Release Clause Is The Problem
Date: 27-7-2007 Wrote by: EP's webmaster
Blues coach Steve Bruce revealed that Mido asked
for a clause in his contract which Birmingham officials
didn't agree on. The
clause is a buy-out release clause to allow him leave
for a certain fee if another club offered that amount
of cash for him
Birmingham Mail revealed that a buy-out
release clause was the main hurdle that prevented Mido's
transfer from going through. In addition to this, other
issues relating to relegation and agents fees added
to the dilemma.
Today Bruce said: "Unfortunately
it does look as if we are drifting away. I've tried
my best, the club have tried their best and we will
attempt to persevere with it.
"There is a lot of work to be done
and we might have to look elsewhere, which would be
a shame. But you never know." He added.
On Ghaly, Bruce was cautiously optimistic
in his comments as he said:
"We had meetings all yesterday and negotiations
are on-going. I'm hopeful on that one but, again, we
will have to wait and see."
So, it seems that both deals still can
go through,. However, Ghaly's deal is still the one
that is most likely to happen.
