Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has claimed he is
not anxious at all about dealing with Mido, despite
his reputation, and maintains he and his compatriot
Ghaly will be a success.
The two Egyptians in England's premier
division are likely to seal moves to Birmingham City
before the start of the season. As reported by EP, Mido
is expected to put pen to paper for a one-year loan
deal at St. Andrews with the view to completing a permanent
move in the region of £5 million. Ghaly
is expected to follow in a deal worth £3 million,
as reported by the British tabloids.
When the Birmingham Mail quizzed Bruce over Mido's
attitude, he maintained that he isn't at all worried.
"The boy just wants to play, I've done it before
with others - taken them on loan and given them a chance
to come and enjoy themselves.
"I think he'll be a huge player for Birmingham,
I really do.
"(Regarding his reputation) He's definitely got
something about him - he'll be a challenge - but that
doesn't worry me at all.
"I think the Birmingham fans like someone who is
a bit of a hot-head. We all do, don't we?
"Yes, his make-up is not the same as most, but
he's still a very decent boy, let me tell you."
When asked about the imminent arrival of the Egyptian
pair he spoke admiringly of both players:
"They are both 24, they've represented their country
numerous times and they have done very, very well for
Tottenham.
"They are quality players and I'm sure they will
both fit in here with what we are trying to do."
