Mido's coming season is looking more ambiguous
than ever, after Fulham and Portsmouth stacked up their
strikers.
Al-Fayed's team signed Senegal striker Diomansy Kamara
while Pompey spent on Preston forward David Nugent and
over £8 million John Utaka.
The former Ismaily striker, who owes a lot to Mohamed
Barakat's fine balls, has made the big-money move to
the Premiership, and Egyptian fans will watch him with
anticipation.
Middlesbrough have entered the frame now, according
to Club Call. It is thought that manager Gareth Southgate
wants to sign three strikers this summer, having already
signed Turkish star Tuncay Sanli and Jeremie Aliadiere
from Arsenal. However, he may still be looking for a
poacher after the departure of Mark Viduka.
Meanwhile, it looks as though Spurs would settle for
£2 million for Mido. The Egyptian's wage bill
is already a deterrent for many clubs, and so the price
tag simply had to go down.
