As Tottenham line up a £17 million
scoop for English striker Darren Bent, they are keen
to sell the Egyptian hitman.
Mido has been linked with Birmingham City and Fulham,
and now, Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth side is in the
frame.
The striker was previously in Redknapp's transfer plans
at Southampton, as well in the last year at Porsmouth.
It is not yet known whether Pompey are ready to make
an official offer.
Meanwhile, despite renewing Dimitar Berbatov's contract,
the Bulgarian is still being tracked by champions Manchester
United. It is thought that the Red Devils will make
a new offer for the Spurs star, or that he will be allowed
to leave if the club doesn't get a Champions League
spot next
season.
Jermain Defoe looks more likely to leave though. Spurs
are expected to accept £10 million for the forward,
whose contract expires at the end of the coming season.
Interest has been shown in him, though he rejected a
move back to West Ham United in the last weeks.
Meanwhile, Spurs signed youngster Adel Taarabt on a
permanent deal after he impressed while on loan, beating
Mido to the bench on a number of occasions.
