"Robinson could have produced a better reflex and the defence should have blocked Carvalho's strike" said Mido.

Mido also expressed disappointment at missing a big chance just moments before Carvalho grabbed the winner. "I missed a glorious opportunity. Maybe I could have done better but Petr Cech saved the ball well," he commented.

Mido highlighted the fact that the team was stretched to its limit after Thursday night's European exploits. Tottenham stepped on to the Stamford Bridge turf 39 hours after walking off Sevilla's pitch.

"That's how things go nowadays in Europe," explained the striker.

"That's why Martin Jol rotates the squad so that every player is fresh.

"Our objective is to reach the UEFA Cup," the Egyptian added.
