Ahmed Fathi is hoping his international performance against Sweden will earn him a starting place against Mido's Tottenham, who play in Sheffield today (Saturday).

Fathi has been praised by manager Neil Warnock after performing for Egypt on Wednesday, but it remains to be seen whether he will start. Warnock was the most manager to make substitutions in the league until two matches ago. He has made no changes since Fathi arrived, keeping the same eleven for the 90 minutes of the previous two games.

This may mean changes are needed however, and so Fathi should make his debut. If he does, he won't be up against compatriot Hossam Ghaly, who is suspended for the match.

On the other hand, Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' returns from his suspension, and may feature in the game. Though Dimitar Berbatov is fit to play, the Egyptian could see action particularly if Spurs are leading.

If the Egyptians play they will do so on a much debated pitch. Brammal Lane's muddy turf has been questioned by many, though the Blades used it to their favour in the last home game. Their home form has not been too bad, having lost just a single one of the last six games at the Lane. But they
will be looking for wins; the points are needed as they continue their struggle to stay in the league. So far it has been successful, but despite the 16th place they sit in, Warnock has warned that safety is still far away.

Tottenham have continued their dreadful away form, winning just one game outside White Hart Lane. This makes the game all the more important for both teams, who see it as a chance to change their ways, be it a win for the Blades, or an away one for Spurs.
