Martin Jol finally spoke about the Mido saga, indicating the Egyptian is still wanted by Spurs, but once more reassuring that he is merely back-up for Dimitar Berbatov.

Mido celebrates his goal

Mido is important because Berbatov is out," Martin Jol is quoted as saying on SkySports.com.

"We are a club that keeps our best players," he continued.

This clarification shows that Spurs are not currently prepared to sell Mido, while proving Mido's current back-up position at the club.

Dimitar Berbatov is currently suffering from injury but may be back within the next couple of weeks.
