Both Mido and Ghaly started in today's home clash with the Reds who won by a single goal. Spurs were unlucky not to score in the game as Mido missed an easy chance in the first half while Ghaly also missed a big chance in the 2nd half. Berbatov replaced Mido in the 2nd half and he also wasted another real chance to end the clash in a 0-1 defeat.

Egyptian striker Mido had a golden chance to prove himself as he started at the expense of the ill Dimitar Berbatov in the home clash with Liverpool. However, Mido's overall performance was disappointing and showed that frequent groin problems and sitting on bench for long had severe effects on his sharpness on goal.

Mido had a terrible miss early on when the ball fell to him behind the defense and he was in acres of space with only Reina to beat. However, the Egyptian opted for the spectacular as he tried to fire the ball first time with his left instead of controlling it and advancing on the goalkeeper.

Mido's performance in general was below average as he couldn't win much in the air. However, he won a few headers against Carragher but Defoe couldn't take advantage of any.

Despite the poor show from Mido, he created the best Tottenham move in the first half when he sent a great cross from the left to Ghaly on the right wing, the other Egyptian laid the ball to Huddlestone who crossed low to Defoe in the box but the latter was beaten to the ball by a Liverpool defender.

On the other side, Hossam Ghaly looked in a much better shape than Aston Villa match, he rarely gave away possession and his ball control, work rate and passing were generally excellent. The Egyptian was the best midfielder and one of Spurs players in that half considering that Huddlestone sent many bad passes in the game while Zokora's poor pass led to the only goal. The remaining midfielder Malbranque put in much effort but his end product was generally lacking.

Liverpool were the better side in the first half and their players moved very well in the final third. The Reds had a few chances to score in that half mainly though Kuyt who hit the ball just wide after a nice pass from Bellamy.

The only goal in the game came in the last minute of the first half. The goal came through a terrible careless pass from Zokora who tried to pass on the floor to Huddlestone but his pass was intercepted and the ball reached Luis Garcia who hit it low to beat Robinson and make the score 0-1.

In the 2nd half, Jol took Zokora off and brough Murphy on, he also took Mido off to make way for the onform Berbatov who was always a threat when he had the ball.

Unfortunately for Mido, Berbatov looked like a super sub when he replaced the Egyptian and made a real difference as he was able to control the ball under pressure and created many chances with his movement.

Near the end of the game, Spurs dominated the game completely but they couldn't convert. Ghaly had a golden chance to he Spurs hero in the match when the ball fell to him in front of an open goal but the Egyptian hit the ball way over and missed the big chance to add to the Egyptians misery in the game.

Ghaly also had another chance to score when the ball fell to him inside the box, however the ball was hard to expect and control and so, he couldn't direct it and the chance went begging.

In terms of finishing, Berbatov wasn't any better than Ghaly as he also had unforgettable miss when he failed to control the ball behind the defense and wasted a golden chance to level the score.
