The reactions to Mido's comments regarding Sol Campbell continued today, as his own manager condemned his statement as "irresponsible and disrespectful".

Martin Jol was speaking ahead of tomorrow's game against Portsmouth and when asked about Mido's comments he replied: "I have told him to let his football do the talking in the future."

"Given the feelings that still run high about Sol among our supporters, Mido's comments were not only disrespectful, they were also irresponsible," Jol added.

Mido is no stranger to this type of controversy; last season there was a similar situation when he said to the press that he and Paul Robinson had an argument at half-time during the Middlesbrough game. Martin Jol said to him then as he has now, concentrate on playing football and not tell everything to the press.

It had been suggested that Mido had matured as a player and as a person at Spurs, but these comments show a petulant side to the Egyptian that all fans wished had disappeared..
