Egyptian
striker Mido came on in the 2nd half in Roma's friendly
versus the Bundesliga side Hamburg. The game ended in
a 0-1 loss for Mido's side but the Egyptian hit the
bar from narrow angle near the end of the game. Aside
from this news, some reports suggested that Spurs could
make a surprise bid to sign Mido back from Rome.
AS Roma played another preseason friendly
as they faced Hamburg on Sunday. The match ended in
another loss for Roma which is the 2nd in a row after
their 0-1 loss to Porto last week.
Benjamin Lauth scored the only goal in
the 13th minute of the game. Mido started the game on
bench and came on in the 2nd half. His best effort was
a chance from narrow angle near the final whistle. However,
the ball was denied by the bar.
After the game, Roma's head coach Spalletti
showed his confidence in Mido and asked the fans to
have more patience on the Egyptian as he only joined
the team a few days ago.
It should be noted that Roma missed many
of their key players in that friendly like Perrota,
Totti and De Rossi, Cufre in addition to the injured
Montella.
Aside from this news, rumours are currently
linking Mido with a move back to Spurs. The English
news sources claimed that Jol is willing to make a surprise
bid to sign Mido from Roma.
It should be mentioned that Spurs currently have three
men at front. Amongst them, there is only one target
man (Berbatov) and Jol could be looking for another
target striker to play in rotation with Berbatov at
front.
On the other side, Spalleti is not willing
to bring on any other striker at Roma and Mido will
have a great chance to be a starter at the Rome based
side.
Spalletti prefers to play with 4-2-3-1
formation and Mido will most likely be the lone striker
at front with Totti supporting him.
