It has been reported that Mido has accepted
the English club's bid and will sign in today. However,
this has not been confirmed by either party.
Mido had been given a few days to consider the deal,
after allegedly being told by Roma that he is not part
of their plans.
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes confirmed his interest in
the Egyptian, and today added that he is going to keep
trying to sign him, though things have not been as swift
as had been hoped.
"The matter is a little bit complicated as he is
still under contract," said Hughes.
"But we have expressed an interest in Mido. He
is one of a number of players we would like to bring
here.
"The situation, though, has not developed as quickly
as we had hoped.
"However I am still hopeful and we will keep pursuing
him until the matter is dead in the water."
The comments clearly show that Mido is a big target
for Rovers, who finished 6th last season and will play
in the UEFA Cup. However, there have been other names
on their shortlist and should Hossam not sign in the
coming days they may look elsewhere.
Italian sources seem to feel that Mido has weighed up
the options and chosen to sign for the Burnley club.
