Spurs have announced that Ahmed Hossam has returned to his Italian club Roma, indicating that they have failed to reach terms with the striker. Bulgarian striker Berbatov is his replacement, though Mido has some good memories at the club.

"Striker Mido will return to Roma this summer at the conclusion of his 18-month loan period," read a statement on the club website. Moroccan defender Noureddine Naybet has also finished his time at Spurs. "We thank all the departing players for their contribution and wish them every success for the future," continued the statement.
