Spurs lost their
hope to qualify for the CL after their away 2-1 loss.
On the other side, their bitter rivals, the Gunners
managed to secure the 4th place instead after a 4-2
home win versus Wigan. Mido wasn't available for today's
game because of knee poblems.

Tottenham's only hope was to win this
afternoon away clash with West Ham and await the Champions
League final. However, the game ended in a defeat for
the Spurs and so, they will play UEFA Cup instead next
season.
Egyptian star Mido missed the game because
of his knee problems which kept him out of action for
more than a month. The other Egyptian Hossam Ghaly wasn't
also available for the game.
Spurs conceded an early goal in the 10th
minute through Fletcher who fired a powerful shot with
his left into the far bottom corner to make the score
1-0.
In the 35th minute, Defoe leveled the
score when he received the ball at the edge of the box,
turned to face the goal and fired a powerful shot with
his right into the far bottom corner to make the score
1-1.
Later on in the 2nd half, the referee
awarded West Ham a penalty kick after a foul in the
box by Teemu Tainio. However, the goalkeeper Robinson
managed to save Teddy Sheringham's spot kick.

Just 10 minutes from the final whistle, Benayoun scored
another goal for West Ham to end the Spurs hopes in
Champions League qualification as they needed to score
two goals in the last 10 minutes in order to remain
in the 4th spot in the table.
