  • 28 year old midfielder Hossam Ghaly is facing the threat of serving one year ban after he failed a drug test. The doping test samples were taken after the Saudi league match between Hilal and Nassr a few weeks ago.

"Al Nassr received a notification from the Saudi Football Association's disciplinary committee that Ghaly had tested positive for a banned substance," Shwaki was quoted as saying by Egyptian reporters.

'Another sample of Ghaly's blood will be examined this week. He added.

'There must be something wrong because Hossam is a professional who is fully aware of the gravity of using banned substances.'

It is thought that Ghaly might have taken medication for Flu during the African Cup of Nations which is listed amongst the prohibited drugs.
