Things are getting better for Hossam Ghaly. He will
be included in Spurs list for tonight's Carling cup
clash with Burnly. The tension between him and the fans
is much lower after he issued another apology to fans
on SkySports and got backed by players and coach.
Speaking to SkySports on throwing his
shirt in the game versus Blackburn on the pen-ultimate
matchday of the season before, Ghaly said:
"I made one mistake when I took off
my shirt when I was substituted, I have explained in
the past," he told skysports.com.
"It was because of frustration with my performance
and not the manager, I apologised to the manager immediately
and I also apologised to the Spurs fans on the club's
official website. I want the fans to know that I am
truly sorry for what happened at that time but that
was in the past and this is now.
"If the manager puts me on the pitch I promise
that I will give everything for him, for the team and
for the fans.
"I want them to judge me on my performance should
I get the chance and not something which happened in
the past and which I cannot change.
Ghaly also showed his appreciated to the new coach Harry Redknapp
who backed the Egyptian and brought him back to the first
team.
"Everybody here enjoys training, it is
hard work but enjoyable," he said.
"There is a good team spirit and togetherness amongst
the squad. The manager has made a big impact on everybody
since taking over.
"All I can do is continue to work hard and if the manager
asks me to play I will be ready.
"After the fans reaction last week it was tough for
a couple of days but the manager, Clive Allen and my team-mates
have been great with me."
Hossam is expected to see action tonight as Spurs face Burnly
at home in the Carling Cup.
