After some of Spurs fans booed Ghaly as he was prepared
to come on in the FA cup match versus Wigan, Manager
Redknapp and defender Jonathan Woodgate backed the midfielder
and asked the fans to get behind Hossam Ghaly.
"They have got to give him a break,
I just want to get that message across. We all do things
we regret and I'm sure Hossam regretted what he did,"
Said Woodgate.
"We need as many players as we can.
He's 27 years old and wants to try to play for Spurs.
You can't let one moment ruin a player. Let him back
on the pitch first and then he can try to win them over."
He aded.
Redknapp: Fans must forgive Ghaly
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has urged fans to forgive Hossam
Ghaly and allow the midfielder to help the club while they
are short on numbers.
Id have been upset if Id been
subbed as a sub, Redknapp said.
We need him. We all make mistakes in life. Show me
someone who hasnt made mistakes and Ill show you
a liar. Everyone deserves another chance.
Its difficult for the lad,
Redknapp said. Hes been okay since Ive been
here and his attitude has been fine. I felt sorry for him.
