According to SkySports, Derby County's only goal this
weekend was selected as the Goal of the week. Egyptian
midfielder Hossam Ghaly was an integral part in the
making of this goal as he made the superb assist to
Mears who found the net.
Despite the 2-1 away defeat against West
Ham United, Ghaly and his teammates at Derby will have
something to smile about as their only goal was chosen
as Premiership Goal Of The Week.
SkySports described the goal with: "The
full-back (Mears) showed his pace to burst clear of
the West Ham defence onto Hossam Ghaly's clever pass
and Mears showed his composure when he coolly clipped
his shot over Robert Green and into the net".
The goal was an example on how counter
attacks can be effective as Mears ran at full sprint
to receive Hossam Ghaly's great pass to face the keeper
and score with one elegant touch.
On the other side, Bolton's Gavin McCann goal in Mido and
Shawky's Middlesboro net was chosen as moment of the week
as it gave Bolton hopes to avoid relegation and come out of
the bottom three.
It should be noted that Boro will play away
next weekend versus Sunderland while Ghaly's Rams will face
Arsenal at home.
