We had a hope to see Egyptians Shawky and Ghaly playing against each other in today's Premiership encounter between Boro and Derby. However, both Egyptians didn't start but they came from bench in the 2nd half.

Lee Cattermole replaced Shawky in midfield as the Egyptian is not completely fit to play the entire game following his toe injury. On the other hand, Paul Jewel decided to start with the same formation for Derby in their match versus Manchester United which ended in a 1-0 narrow win for United.

The first half ended in a 1-0 lead for Boro as Tuncay powered a shot home from the edge of the box.

After around an hour, Ghaly and Shawky came on, Ghaly's role was to try creating some chances for the forwards in order to give the Rams the chance to get back into the game. Ghaly did this job quite well and created a couple of key passes to his teammates who failed to take advantage. The Egyptian got a 7 rating by SkySports and the website mentioned that the Egyptian substitute really made a difference when he came on.

On the other side, Shawky had little to offer as his duties were more defensive. The Egyptian helped his teammates to end the game in a win which put them in the 12th spot and meant that Boro will be in a safe position away from relegation zone.
