  • Under the title of "Ghaly finding his feet", a long aticle was written on Hossam Ghaly, the best Derby County signing this season as they describe him.

The article contained quotes from Ghaly who is happy at Derby and willing to fight with the rest of his teammates to avoid relegation. While everyone expects relegation, Ghaly thinks otherwise and says Derby can stay in the Premiership if they can win enough points from their home matches.

We are getting better,” he said.

“We drew our last game against Manchester City at home and then we got a point here also.

“We need these points to lift the team.

“With some of our games left at home, we need to fight to get points and I think we can get better if we do that.”

Despite not being fully fit, Ghaly is thought to be Derby's best signing as he impressed in all the games that he participated in so far.

"After staying out of the game for so long, it's a good feeling to be getting games and hitting top form again,” he said.

“I'm trying to do my best and play my own game - to do my best for myself and for the team also.

“So I think, game after game, I'm getting better.”

Speaking on Derby's chances to stay in the Premiership, he said:

“You never know who's going to be relegated,” said Ghaly.

“A lot of teams are down at the bottom of the table. It might be Birmingham City, it might be Wigan, there are a few down there with us.”

He added: “For Derby, it's important we work hard and try hard to do the best for this club.

“It's important we fight every game and try to go up the Premier League table.”

It should be noted that Ghaly will not be eligible for the Rams' game against Tottenham on Saturday as part of the loan deal.

Hossam Ghaly is the only bit of class we have at moment

EP collected some quotes on Ghaly from the Derby supporters who all agreed that the Egyptian is the only class player that they got at the moment:

"I see glimpses of a VERY good midfielder in Ghaly. He is the perfect age, he has international experience, he's played at a much better level than anyone else in our squad. The lad isn't match fit, thats obvious to see, but for the first time since Baiano and Eranio left the club, I can see a player who is intelligent on the ball. Even when something doesn't quite work, you can see what he was trying to do and you know that no-one else in the club would have even seen the pass, let alone try and take it on.

IF there is any chance, ANY CHANCE AT ALL, that we could sign this lad up, then we have to take it.

In my honest opinion, he is the sort of player that we could build an entire team around.

Ghaly has the ability to unlock defensives and very few players in the world can say that.

In our current position, we are very lucky to have a player of his calibre".

    Another fan replied by saying:

I could not agree more , Ghaly has masses of ability and could be so dangerous for us in the Championship if aJewel gets the players around him who can read his footbaling mind , he could be our Koumas next season

"Damn right- was probs the best signing so far and showed signs of quality even against wigan" another fan added.

Although fans see Ghaly a great addition to Derby, they doubt he will accept to go with them to the Championsship:

"From what little we have seen of Ghaly I think he would be a very good signing, the big question is would he want to play in the ccc".

    Another Rams fan added:

"I hope jewell can persuade him to stay

And then we need a defensive midfield player, because jewell bought savage to be a in your face player but he hasnt got the legs for that role anymore

But Ghaly i think would want to play in a better team that likes to play football so that might be a foreign move

But if he becomes our play maker then i can see him staying if the team is based around him".

I'd like to see him here permanently. Technically on Saturday he looked pretty good. Short of pace, but clearly someone who looks to bring the ball down under control and picks his passes rather than hoofing it.

Another fan admitted that Ghaly as a player is above everyone else in the Rams squad:

"He is a good player, well above championship level. against wigan the other players on the pitch were not on his level. he was playing lovely short passes with savage, but he didnt have the skill or pace to do anything with them.

hes good, shame the players around him are not good enough.!"
