Hossam Ghaly helped his side win another
point in the Premiership as they ended their away clash
with Birmingham City in a 1-1 draw. After a goal less
first half, Larsson scored for the homeside in the 68th
minute but Derby managed to equalize in the 89th minute
through the Argentine Villa who headed the ball home
in off the post. Ghaly played the full match and did
considerably well.
Results started to improve for Derby with the arrival
of Ghaly and other players who joined the struggling
club in January. The side managed to win another point
in the Premiership after a later draw with Birmingham
City on Saturday afternoon.
Although the game against Birmingham didn't
witness alot of improvement for Derby, but the away
side had the determination to come back into the game
in the 89th minute.
Ghaly played another full match for Derby.
His performance with good but not great. He did move
well, made some good passes and showed good vision as
usual but he lost possession cheaply in more than an
occasion and didn't time his tackles well in other occasions.
Regarding Derby, they couldn't get into
the game in the first half because of Birmingham pressure.
The home side went close more than once and looked the
better side overall. In particular, MsFadded and Kapo
looked too dangerous at front and could have scored
in the first half.
In the second half, Larsson gave Birmingham the lead in the
68th minute. The goal came from a left win cross into the
area, Larsson went for the headier but the ball came off his
arm and fell in front of him again and this time he buried
it in to give the home side the lead,
Derby couldn't create many chances although
they needed to equalize. However, they hit the post once.
In the dying moments of the 2nd half, particularly
in the 89th minute, the equalizing goal came through Villa
who headed the ball home after a fine cross from the right
wing.
The draw won't change much in Derby's standings
as they remain bottom. But it increased their points to 9
so far.
