While Mido had a medical with Boro yesterday
and everything is set for completing his transfer deal
withing the next few hours, his compatriot Hossam Ghaly
remains as a Spur for the time being.
Despite this, Ghaly never made the bench
in the opening match versus Sunderland and he wasn't
selected for last night's encounter with Everton too.
It seems either Ghaly is out of Jol plans or he is not
fully fit to start games.
Martin Jol admitted that Ghaly did very
well last season and exceeded the expectations as he
assisted more than any other midfielder. But the Dutch
coach is yet to make use of the Egyptian.
Yesterday, Tottenham played at home and
fans were full of hope to win their first three premiership
points this season. However, Jol's questionable team
selection and tactics had negative effects on the team
and they lost heavily by three goals to one.
Jol's tactics included starting with Robbie
Keane behind the two forwards Berbatov and Darren Bent.
The Irish international couldn't play the role of the
support man well and the midfield lacked all forms of
creativity.
On the other hand, Spurs defense looked
quite shaky especially with absence of Ledley King and
Michael Dawson.
It took Everton just a couple of minutes
to take the lead through a well placed header by Lescott.
However, Tottenham equalized through a carbon copy goal
which was scored by the central defender Gardner.
