  • After the surprising move of Mido to Sunderland, his compatriot Hossam Ghaly became in the spotlight this afternoon as his transfer from Tottenham to Birmingham City has been cancelled.

According to the Birmingham official webpage, the reasons were "Footballing reasons" which is a pretty vague statement from the club.

Such statement allowed speculations and rumours to start, some sources claimed that the Egyptian couldn't obtain a work permit and this was the reason beyond the collapse of his transfer.

However, obtaining a work permit does not fall under footballing reasons by any mean.

It was also rumoured that the Egyptian was involved in a massive row between the players during training this morning and Bruce had to dismiss him from training. However, these are all mere speculations and EP cannot confirm or deny this at the time being.

According to Spurs website, Ghaly was the one who didn't want the transfer to go through so it is clear that something happened in the very previous hours that resulted in him not willing to play for Blues.

The whole situation is unclear at the time being, but EP will try to get more updates as the story unfolds...
