  • Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly cannot particiate in Blues games unless the is granted a work permit. It is expected that the Egyptian will obtain his work permit before monday and so he can participate in the friendly versus Oxford United.

The game will be a test for Ghaly as the Egyptian didn't train with Spurs and also with Blues. Hossam must impress in the coming friendly so he can be considered for a spot within the starting eleven of Birmingham in the Premiership match day one on the 11th of August.

"We need him to get a work permit, and then up and running," said Bruce. "He's had one of those stuttering pre-seasons.

"He's been in Birmingham for five days for a start with all the negotiations and he's not been training, and Tottenham have been away as well. the Blues coach added.

"If we can get the work permit by tomorrow, then we've got a reserve game arranged at Oxford United on Monday and maybe that could be the first look at him."
