Speaking on Egyptian TV, on the popular Magdy Abd
El-Ghany show, the Egyptian international confirmed
that the show of frustration was due to his lack of
appearances and that the situation has been dealt with
internally.
When asked about whether he will be ready
for the up and coming international
fixture he said:
"Yes, I'm fit and ready to contribute
to the national team."
When quizzed on the incident and what had happened
Ghaly stated: "It's behind me now, I met with the
manager and he said to leave it to him to sort out.
We sat down together and I apologised to him and to
the fans through the club website. The reason that I
showed me anger in this bad way
is because I would play well, and then the next match
I would not even make the selection for the squad. Injured
players would come back from injury and get selected
ahead of me. In my contract there is a clause, I get
money for an appearance and this is another reason why
I was upset."
He then admitted that he had not yet received his punishment,
yet he stated the punishment is likely to be a week's wages
(around £20,000) and not two weeks wages like reported.
More on Spurs, and on the future of Mido and Ghaly, soon
on EP...
