Hossam Ghaly scored a great goal versus Chelsea giants
in the FA quarter final clash at Chelsea's home turf.
Spurs almost won the qualification ticket to quarter
finals as they lead the game by 3 goals to 1 in the
first half. However, the homeside managed to come back
in the 2nd half to end the game in a 3-3 draw.

Spurs were on the verge of kicking Chelsea
out of FA cup and winning the qualification ticket to
semi final round. However, a subpar performance in the
2nd half allowed Chelsea to come back into the game.
Spurs missed some of their key players
due to injury and so, Ghaly started the game in absence
of Jenas. The Egyptian did very well throughout the
game and scored a great goal.
The powerful start from Tottenham side
gave the the lead through the on form striker Dimitar
Berbatov who fired the ball home from inside the area
to give Spurs a deserved early lead.
Chelsea fought back after the goal and
managed to level the score through Lampard who changed
the direction of a poor shot by Drogba to make the score
1-1.
Tottenham were lucky to get a 2nd goal
which came through Essien who slide the ball into his
own net after a low cross from Lennon. Hossam Ghaly
was involved in the build up for that goal as he passed
the ball on the floor to Lennon in the right side of
the box and the latter sent the ball low in front of
goal to find Essien who tried to clear the ball behind
for a corner but he sent it into the back of his own
net instead.
Then came Ghaly's best moment in the game
when he started a great run from Spurs half and tried
to pass low for Berbatov but the ball was intercepted
as it came off a Chelsea defender, Ghaly ran at full
pace and managed to chest the ball down in front of
him, the Egyptian advanced on the goalkeeper and smashed
the ball low into the back of the net to score one of
his best goals in his career so far.
In the 2nd half, Tottenham had a golden
chance to maintain their 2 goal lead and advance to
semi finals. However, their shaky start in the 2nd half
gave hope to the homeside to start working on getting
back into the game.
Despite the weak start from Tottenham
early on in the 2nd half, they fought back and almost
finished their opponents off when Hossam Ghaly found
Defoe with a great cross while the English international
was a few yards away from goal. Oddly, Defoe couldn't
head the ball home from that close range and he squandered
the chance to make the score 1-4.
