Spurs didn't find difficulty to overcome Cardiff city
in the FA Cup replay. Ghaly started on bench and came
on in the 2nd half to help Spurs score their last goal
in the game. Ghaly made a good run and used his skill
to beat his marker before sending a low shot at goal,
the shot was denied by the keeper to find Defoe who
slotted it home to make the score 4-0.
Ghaly saw a few minutes of action but was able to make
an impact
Spurs managed to win the FA Cup replay
match against Cardiff City, Spurs were held at Cardiff
as thematch ended in a goalless draw. The replay at
White Heart Lane was a different story as Tottenham
didn't find much trouble to overcome their opponent
thanks to a couple of early goals.
Spurs started with Keane and Berbatov
at front. Defoe was on the bench but came of later in
the 2nd half while Mido wasn't available because of
groin injury that kept him out of action since the home
match versus Liverpool.
In midfield, Zokora returned back to starting
eleven and so did Lennon, both started together with
Malbranque and Huddlestone while the Egyptian Ghaly
was on bench and came on in the 2nd half.
Spurs took the lead through Lennon who
scored a relatively early goal in the 26th minute, Zokora
made the assist for that goal as he sent the ball low
in the direction of Berbatov and Lennon, the ball reached
Lennon behind the defense and he faced the keeper and
scored to give Spurs the lead.
Three minutes later, Spurs added their
2nd through Keane who received a low pass from Berbatov.
The Bulgarian did well to keep the ball under control
in the right side of the box, he passed it low to find
Keane and the latter slotted it home to double Tottaenham
score.
In the 41st minute, Malbranque added the 3rd
for Spurs when he received the ball just outside the box and
fired it into the back of the net.
In the 64th minute, Hossam Ghaly came on to
replace Malbranque and the Egyptian was able to make an impact
in the game.
In the 80th minute, Ghaly shone as he cut into
the middle from the halfway line and managed to take the ball
past his marker with a clever dribble. The Egyptian then hit
the ball low at goal where it was parried by Cardiff goalkeeper
Alexander and fell to find Defoe who made the rebound and
scored.
