Spurs coach Martin Jol criticized the former Tottenham defender Pamarot who collided with Ghaly in a bizzare fashion which resulted in the Egyptian losing four of his teeth in addition to a cut injury in his lip.

Jol described Ghaly incident as "cynical" and criticised Noe Pamarot for making such undeeded violent foul.

Jol described as "cynical" the high challenge by Portsmouth defender Noe Pamarot which left Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly with four teeth missing and with a cut injury in his lip.

Jol said: "I asked the referee and he said it wasn't a foul but when I looked at it again (on tape) I thought it was cynical.

"I know Pamarot and he is a terrific lad, exceptional, but not when he is on the pitch. Ghaly was unbelievable. I thought at first the doctor told me he lost his false teeth but he was really saying four teeth.

Jol continued to praise his player Ghaly for his toughness as the player managed to play the full half despite this major injury.:

"Most people would have gone to hospital and stayed there a week with that injury but he went back on to play and it was only later I noticed some dangerous signs and took him off again for the second half.

The Dutch coach also denied that he let Ghaly play while he knows the extent of his injury, he told the official website that if he knew that Ghaly lost four teeth, he would have replaced him at once.

"If I had known the full extent of the injury I would never have let Ghaly go back on but I took notice of my doctor. I always do that."

On the other hand, Portsmouth coach Harry Redknapp rejected Jol's claims over Pamarot and instead, he tend to back his player.

Redknapp said: "That is nonsense. It was a pure accident. Pamarot hasn't got a cynical bone in his body and often I wish he was a bit more aggressive. Cynical ? Is that what is being said. I don't think so.

"I am sad the poor kid lost a few teeth but what can you do?"

Ghaly, who was sent off for a deliberate elbow at Blackburn in November and served a three-match ban, seemed to duck into Pamarot's admittedly high challenge and referee Andre Marriner restarted the match with a free-kick.

Ironically, Pamarot also got injured during the match and had to be replaced early on while Ghaly who lost his teeth managed to play the entire first half.

EP wish Ghaly a speedy recovery and to get back to action as soon as possible.
