Hossam Ghaly has been rewarded for his good performances
against Man Utd and Portsmouth with a call-up to the
national squad, ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier
against Botswana in Gaborone.
Ghaly has not appeared for Egypt since
last October when he participated in the World cup qualifier
against Cameroon. He was dropped from the national side
before January's Nations Cup and Hassan Shehata vowed
not to call him up again after Ghaly criticised him
in the press, as he did with Mohammed
Zidan. Yet they will both be in the squad.
There were also six other inclusions to the squad from Europe
with: Abdel Zaher El Saka (Konyaspor, Turkey), Amir Azmy Megahed
(PAOK, Greece), Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht, Belgium), Ahmed
'Mido' Hossam (Tottenham Hotspur, England) and Mohamed Zidan
(Werder Bremen).
