Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly says he is keen on proving his worth for Spurs, though he has not yet had a chance.

"At the start of pre-season I was really hoping that I was going to break into the team and play for Tottenham, but the chance didn't come for me in the first few games," Ghaly is quoted as saying on Sky Sports.

"Now I hope the manager has the confidence to pick me again because he has seen I can do a job for the team," he added.

Ghaly has played one league game - at Old Trafford - and showed some of his abilities. Martin Jol has stressed that he needs to find his best middle line, and Ghaly agrees.

"We have to find our best midfield and sometimes that's not just about the best players but about the best combination," proclaimed the former Feyenoord player.
